In a short and simple statement, Jesus is the God-man. He is fully God and He was also fully man as He walked upon the face of this earth. In His deity, Jesus is the eternal Son of God and is one with the Father. In His humanity, Jesus was conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of a virgin into this world in order to save mankind from their sins.
"For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16
What did Jesus Do?
Well, that question is too broad to answer in just a lifetime! The one thing that Jesus did that the whole world needs to know is that He lived a sinless life and died a vicarious death. From the time He began His public ministry until the time He died He performed miracles, raised the dead to life, and fulfilled prophecies written about Him. Jesus was and will always be the greatest of all preachers as He preached on the Kingdom of God, encouraging lost sinners to accept the salvation that He offered.
The death of Jesus came when He was crucified on a wooden cross at a place called Golgotha. His death was a fulfillment of prophecy as He was the Lamb that was slain from the foundation of the world. He willingly laid down His sinless life so that sinful men, women, boys, and girls could be saved. However, He fulfilled another prophecy when He rose from the grave three days later, and now sits at the Father's right hand in heaven.
"But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed." -Isaiah 53:5

"But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ." - Ephesians 2:13
